Step Inside FCJ College: Welcome to Term 2

It’s been a vibrant and busy start to the term here at FCJ College.

Week 2 brought with it the return of our favourite people—our students! Classes resumed and new initiatives kicked off.

One of the highlights was the launch of the Let’s Find Our Voice program—an event always eagerly anticipated and embraced by both our school and the wider community. Watching students and community members of all ages unite through music is both inspiring and heartwarming. It beautifully reflects the spirit of Companionship that lies at the heart of our school community. This initiative thrives on the joy of shared experience—and the good news is that there is still time to be part of it! Community members are warmly invited to register and join this years’ experience.

Our Year 9 students enrolled in the Showcase elective proudly presented their group projects to fellow classmates and students from Years 7 to 11. Topics spanned a diverse range of learning areas, including Ancient Egypt, 1960s Fashion Icons, Environmental Awareness campaigns, and Sustainable Housing models. This experience not only deepened students’ knowledge in areas of personal interest, but also strengthened essential skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving.

Meanwhile, our Year 11 Biology students took their learning to the next level with a hands-on rat dissection, exploring human body systems in a practical and engaging way. For those with an interest in veterinary science, it was a particularly exciting step forward. Students also had the option to use detailed anatomical models, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.
