Purpose of the Role:
The Level 1/2 Support Engineer plays a vital frontline role in delivering IT support services to our school community. This role is responsible for providing timely, professional, and empathetic technical support to staff and students, ensuring effective use of school systems and devices. This includes laptops, desktops, printers, smartboards, and mobile devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues and service requests.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Support users with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Manage, deploy, and troubleshoot devices through Intune and MDM platforms.
- Set up new user accounts, email addresses, and permissions.
- Maintain asset records and update configuration documentation.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Level 2/3 support or vendors when needed.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, with prompt and effective communication.
- Assist with classroom AV setup and support, including smartboards and projectors.
- Support ongoing IT projects and assist in the implementation of new systems and processes.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows 10/11 environments.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Intune and device management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a school environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic IT team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a customer service mindset.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, ITIL).
- Experience working in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with both Windows and Apple devices, including iPads, and ASM.
- Basic knowledge of networking (Wi-Fi, printers, LAN).
- Exposure to service management platforms such as JIRA or similar ticketing systems.

Purpose of the Role:
The Systems Administrator is a critical role within our IT team, responsible for ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance, and security of the school’s infrastructure. This role supports the college’s cloud-first strategy and involves managing hybrid environments across Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-premises technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Systems Administration, with a strong track record supporting cloud platforms, end-user technologies, and enterprise networks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Management
• Administer and maintain Azure IaaS environments (VMs, storage, networking).
• Maintain user, device, and application policies via Microsoft Intune.
• Manage hybrid Azure AD and on-premises Active Directory environments.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 tenancy including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Teams, and compliance/security features.
• Maintain configuration and updates across staff and student devices (including iPads, laptops, desktops, and mobile phones).
2. Networking
• Manage and maintain Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Ensure secure network performance, availability, and monitoring for both wired and wireless networks.
• Assist in the development and implementation of network access and security policies.
3. Systems Support & Administration
• Provide level 2/3 support across all system platforms.
• Create and maintain clear, documented processes for disaster recovery and system backup.
• Perform regular systems audits to identify areas for improvement and potential security vulnerabilities.
• Monitor systems using appropriate tools and automate where possible to improve efficiency.
4. Project Delivery & Collaboration
• Support the implementation of IT infrastructure projects in line with the school’s strategic technology plan.
• Work closely with the IT Manager and vendors to deliver on infrastructure upgrades and changes.
• Provide expert input into system architecture and planning for future expansion.
• Mentor and guide junior technical staff and support personnel when required.
Essential Criteria:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Systems Administration roles, preferably within an education or enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS), including networking, virtual machines, and storage.
• Expertise in Microsoft Intune and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, especially SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange, and security & compliance tools.
• Experience supporting and maintaining Cisco Meraki networks.
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including hybrid environments.
• Practical knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent documentation and communication abilities.
• Proven experience managing system upgrades, patching schedules, and IT projects.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA/MCSE, Cisco Meraki, CompTIA).
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management platforms such as JIRA ITSM.
• Experience with Apple device management (ASM) and cross-platform environments.
• Previous experience in an educational setting or not-for-profit sector.
