Step Inside FCJ College: A Season of Growth
Oct 16, 2026

Term 4 has started with a bang, with plenty happening across FCJ College as we head towards the end of another busy year!
Our VCE students have been applying themselves to practice exams as they prepare for the final stretch of their secondary schooling. We wish them all the best for their upcoming exams.
On the sporting field, 38 students represented FCJ College at the Hume Region Athletics Championships. Year 12 student Jayhe-Lee Quattrocchi had an outstanding meet, placing 3rd in the 1500m and 400m and winning the 800m. Best of luck to Jayhe-Lee as she takes on the 800m at State today, alongside our Under 17 girls’ relay team —Pippa Martin, Keira Brown, Heidi O’Halloran & Ruby Richardson — who also qualified for the Victorian State Championships. Congratulations to all our athletes on their efforts, achievements and fantastic representation of FCJ College!
In STEM, students had the opportunity to explore the technology shaping our future through a STEM Punks incursion, focused on autonomous vehicles and systems. Through hands-on activities, they investigated how artificial intelligence, algorithms and sensors power technologies such as self-driving cars, drones and robots. Working collaboratively with simulated vehicles and sensor data, students tested their problem-solving skills while exploring future STEM career possibilities.
Our Year 11 Legal Studies students welcomed James from the Victorian Parliament’s Outreach Program, who shared insights into Parliament’s operations and law-making powers. Students then role-played passing a bill through Parliament, making valuable connections to their current Area of Study on Human Rights.
Meanwhile, our The Rite Journey students continued their reflective activities, with our Year 9 girls exploring what we allow to “stick” with us. Creating nature bracelets from sticky-side-up masking tape, they collected flowers, leaves and other natural materials. The activity encouraged them to reflect on the thoughts, habits and comments they carry with them, and the importance of letting go of what no longer serves them as they grow.
Our Year 10 Outdoor Education students headed to Bright for an overnight Adventure Camp, combining mountain biking at Mystic Mountain Bike Park, camping at Mount Buffalo Caravan Park and kayaking through the fast-flowing rapids of the Ovens River. From tackling trails and visiting Eurobin Falls to cooking their own dinner, students challenged themselves, built confidence and strengthened their teamwork in Victoria’s beautiful High Country.
Our The Addams Family cast and crew also reunited for a special post-production watch party. The 45 students relived the performances and celebrated the creativity, friendships and teamwork that brought the production to life.
Adding to the excitement, Imogen Williams has been nominated for a Georgy Award for Best Performance in a Junior Production for her portrayal of Morticia Addams. We are thrilled to see her talent recognised. Congratulations, Imogen! We look forward to hearing all about her experience at the awards night next month.
Looking ahead, we will celebrate our Year 12 students next Thursday as they mark the end of their journey at FCJ College. It will be a bittersweet occasion as we reflect on their time with us and wish them well for their upcoming exams and future adventures.
What a busy start to Term 4! We look forward to sharing more student achievements and experiences as the term continues.
