Live4Life: Fostering a Culture of Care and Wellbeing

May 14, 2025

Our Year 8 students had the opportunity to attend the launch of the Live4Life program—and what a fun, engaging, and worthwhile experience it was, highlighting the importance of mental health.

The Live4Life Launch event introduced our Year8 students to mental health education in a way that is safe, fun, and informative. Students gained valuable insights into the Live4Life program and were introduced to the 2025 theme, “Paint Your Own Path,” which encourages young people to take ownership of their mental wellbeing.

Staff and our passionate Year 9 and 10 Live4Life Crew were actively involved, contributing to the warm, energetic atmosphere of the day. Our FCJ College Director of Wellbeing, Gemma Hunter, reflected on the event, saying: “The students embraced and engaged with the Live4Life launch. They understood the significance of supporting mental health, and this came through in the way they interacted positively with each other through the activities on the day. The excitement and good humour filled the stadium.”

A big shout out to our FCJ College Live4LifeCrew members, who organised a range of interactive activities, creating a fun, inclusive and welcoming environment for the Year 8 participants.

Adding to the impact of the day, Benalla Police joined in with activities featuring Fatal Vision Goggles, offering students a hands-on understanding of the dangers of impairment due to alcohol and drugs—an important and eye-opening lesson.

It was a fantastic day, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have the support of Benalla Rural City Council in bringing such a valuable program to our town.
