Step Inside FCJ College: Founder's Day
Aug 22, 2025

On August 15 each year, our school community comes together to celebrate Founders Day—a special occasion to reflect on the legacy of our school’s founding, and a chance for students to unwind, enjoy treats, take part in friendly competition, and share a meal as one big FCJ family.
The day began with a beautiful Mass, concelebrated by Father Isaac Demase—a much-loved former staff member.
From there, the energy shifted into full celebration mode. The oval and grounds came alive with activities including dodgeball, sack races, downball, tug-o-war, 3 legged races and an array of games. Students could also enjoy an art station, coffee shop, open mic, face painting, a giant Jenga and Connect 4 games zone, “Just Dance,” delicious churros, and even Laser Tag!
Adding to the fun, each year level hosted their own themed stall:
· Year 7:Chocolate & Lolly Stall
· Year 8:Spiders
· Year 9:Balloon Darts
· Year 10:Donuts & Lucky Ducky
· Year 11:Ice Bucket Challenge
· Year 12:Bake Sale
The highly anticipated Ice Bucket Challenge had students eagerly voting for their chosen “brave” teacher to take the icy plunge, drawing plenty of laughs and cheers. But the ultimate highlight came with the legendary Staff versus Year 12 netball game, where Year 12 claimed bragging rights with an impressive win as the whole school gathered to enjoy the fun and friendly rivalry.
Behind all the laughter, competitions, and sweet treats, Founders Day also carries a spirit of generosity. Every stall, every challenge, and every churro sold helps raise funds for Malbago Village in the Philippines, continuing our school’s mission of outreach and support for those in need.
In this milestone year, Founders Day was a joyful reminder of the 125 years of faith, learning, and community that have shaped us—a day full of joy, gratitude, and community spirit that reflects our heritage and values. Here’s to another wonderful Founders Day, and to carrying its message of companionship into every day of the year.
Please enjoy some photos from the day below.
