Let's Find Our Voice 2025 Finale

Jun 23, 2025

On Thursday 19 June, FCJ College came alive — not once, but twice — with two unforgettable Let’s Find Our Voice concerts!
This uplifting wellbeing initiative brought together over 40 community members and 55 students in one powerful, joy-filled choir.

Over eight weeks, participants met weekly — not just to rehearse, but to build connections that proved just as meaningful as the music itself. The program continues to foster joy, companionship, confidence, courage, and true community spirit.

Both concerts played to a full house and were an extraordinary celebration of friendship and talent — all with a disco twist!

Principal Joseph Mount proudly premiered our 125-Year Celebration film, a tribute to the College’s rich legacy. Featuring past and present principals — and the beloved Sister Barbara, who absolutely stole the show — the film was a powerful moment of reflection and pride.

From the opening number Don’t Stop by Fleetwood Mac to the powerful anthem Come Together, which celebrates Indigenous culture and unity, the energy in the room was electric.
At the day concert, we were thrilled to welcome the incredible St Joseph's Primary School Choir and FCJ College student Riley Hilton, whose didgeridoo playing — taught by his grandfather — added something truly special.

Our students honoured long-standing community choir members Margaret and Barry Reardon, and alumni and staff member Shaun Jones, through beautifully written memoirs presented by Year 10 students. These stories, crafted through heartfelt interviews, captured each individual’s unique essence. Shaun’s stirring performance of Stairway to Heaven, backed by our talented student band, was simply breathtaking.

The crowd was equally unforgettable — jumping in for an impromptu singalong and becoming part of the choir themselves!

And how did it all end? With a disco-themed finale, complete with a sparkling mirror ball that had everyone clapping, dancing, and beaming with joy.

Hats off to all students involved — including our Tuesday Singers and VCE Music student Emily Snell— for sharing your voices and stepping up with courage and confidence.
Congratulations to our enthusiastic Year 7 singers, and heartfelt thanks to our incredible community volunteers, whose generosity of time and spirit made the project so meaningful.

A special thanks to Adam Toms for leading our student band — Brayden Quattrochi on piano and acoustic guitar, Henry Flynn on bass, and Henry Briggs on electric guitar — and to all students who stepped up, or stepped out of their comfort zones.

And finally, the biggest and most heartfelt congratulations go to Catherine Burton — the heart and soul of this program. Your passion, vision, and tireless dedication make this event not just possible, but extraordinary.
Thank you for once again creating something so joyful, so moving, and so completely unforgettable.

What a night. What a community. What a celebration! 🌟
